Libby has a good life with a gorgeous husband and a home by the sea. From the time I had finished reading the prologue to this book I was hooked.
That was the sum of all my knowledge, except for my inexplicable worry about Jack being evil but that was conjecture. November 4, at February 20, at 4: Frightened by what she finds and the damage it could cause, Libby starts to worry that she too will end up like the first woman Jack loved.
After spending quite some time in hospital she starts to recover and eventually Jack is allowed to take her home.

The minute you start reading the first page, you have a question that you need to know the answer to – which you know will only come to light the further along you read……………. Jack is uninjured but Libby is in a critical condition and suffers a bad head injury along with many cuts and bruises.
Surely it’s time Dorothy’s publishers lost the pastel covers and started publishing her books with a cover that does justice to the writing inside. Frightened by what she finds and the damage it could cause, Libby starts to worry that she too will end up like the first woman Jack loved.
Libby and Jack are involved in a terrible car accident where Libby has to be cut out of the car.
I carried on and finished the book and it did pick up a little and had an exciting element but I did not enjoy this as much as her previous books. I understand that her character had been traumatised by the accident that had catapulted the plot of this story, but even before that, the character that I had grown fond of at the beginning of the book was slowly disappearing. The Woman He Loved Before is cleverly written from various viewpoints.

And I loathe when a first person narrator refers to whatever secret a story holds and remains vague about it. The Woman He Loved Before was an excellent read.
The way it’s worded, the way it rolls off the tongue, it seems as if Jack is some kind of evil person. The changing viewpoints allows Koomson to give us a perfect understanding of the feelings each character bedore, and the relationships between them.
It is well-written with engaging characters, each of whom has a distinctive yet realistic voice.
