AVS Forum articles Contests. I have been searching info on regards to the AS subwoofer the last few hours but I read mix responses but not really specific to me which is why I am posting this.

My plan is to upgrade slowly, no rush until I’m satisfied. That is either with trades or bought used. I don’t believe buying new as I feel getting used, you can get good subs older of course for way cheaper than buying new.

B&W ASW review | What Hi-Fi?

My main home theater set up 5. I upgraded from my 6 inch HTIB subwoofer, to a 8 inch powered Yamaha along side the receiver and speakers. I didn’t try to bargain yet but maybe Ase610 could get it knocked off a little bit. My question is – is it worth getting it?

It looks like a good subwoofer. What I want is a subwoofer that gives deep bass, without putting the gain at percent like I am now, a sub that can go low enough to a point that I might feel it even slightly. Specs look good, it goes below 30Hz too.

This is also a closed sub compares to the ported one that I have but it is a very entry level sub. Is it worth yet?

On occasion for music as well but mostly TV watching. If your room is medium to large size with openings, you are going to struggle with one 10″ sealed sub w ampit just disappears there. I would check if there is any SVS available for 2nd hand. If i were to buy used sub SVS would be first on my mind.

The maximum CEA passing output is the lowest of any subwoofer that I have measured asw61 at the 25, Thanks for the response! Given you’re looking to fill an open-plan space, you will need to push more air.

I’d be considering two 12″ subs for the job. Ported for the lower end of the spectrum. I’m a huge fan of Genelec but that’s largely because I love their accuracy too. However, they cost asw601 big dollars compared to the unit you’ve quoted so far.
